Chimney Repairs Bideford

A chimney is the most exposed masonry on any house, and once the mortar goes the water goes straight down into the bedrooms below. In Bideford that matters more than most places: the EX39 area is dominated by historic quayside homes and hillside terraces, and high rainfall, Atlantic storms and thick moss growth in damp valleys mean roofs need regular attention. Our roofers know the steep terraces above the Torridge and the streets around them, so we arrive with the right materials and the right access plan first time.

Shared party-wall stacks are standard on Bideford's terraces; we repoint and re-flash your side, re-bed loose pots and can coordinate with neighbours if the whole stack needs work.

We rake out and repoint in a suitable mortar mix, renew the flaunching, re-bed pots and dress fresh code-4 lead into the brick courses so the stack sheds water cleanly. Every chimney repairs job we carry out in Bideford is quoted in writing after a free inspection — you see photographs of what is actually wrong before you spend a penny. Most stacks are repointed and re-flashed in one to two days, with scaffold or tower access arranged as part of the quote.

M.S & Sons is a family business — the people who quote your chimney repairs in Bideford are the people who do the work. We cover Northam, Westward Ho!, Appledore and the wider Devon area, and we are fully insured with every job guaranteed. Bideford sits right in the middle of our regular rounds, with Barnstaple (about 9 miles away), Bude (about 18 miles away) and Tiverton (about 33 miles away) all close by, so chimney repairs visits in EX39 fit easily into our schedule.
