Roof Cleaning & Moss Removal
Roof Cleaning & Moss Removal in Dartmouth, Devon
Moss holds water against the tile surface, freezes in winter and slowly breaks the face of the tile apart — cleaning is maintenance, not vanity. In Dartmouth that matters more than most places: the TQ6 area is dominated by steep terraced period houses and slate-roofed cottages, and high rainfall, Atlantic storms and thick moss growth in damp valleys mean roofs need regular attention. Our roofers know the hillside roofs above the Dart estuary and the streets around them, so we arrive with the right materials and the right access plan first time.
Terraced roofs in Dartmouth are cleaned from the front and rear without disturbing neighbours, and we collect every piece of moss so nothing ends up in the shared gutters next door. Cottages around Dartmouth, often under trees, gather moss quickly; our hand clean and treatment protects older tiles that would be damaged by a pressure washer.
How we work in Dartmouth: we scrape by hand rather than blast with a pressure washer, treat the surface with a biocide that keeps working for months, and clear every scrap of debris from gutters and downpipes before we finish. You get a free inspection, clear photos and a fixed written quote before any roof cleaning work begins. Most roof cleans are a one-day job, and we quote a fixed price after seeing photos or carrying out a free inspection.
M.S & Sons is a family business — the people who quote your roof cleaning in Dartmouth are the people who do the work. We cover Townstal, Kingswear, Stoke Fleming and the wider Devon area, and we are fully insured with every job guaranteed. The same crews that handle roof cleaning in Dartmouth are regularly working in Brixham (about 4 miles away), Totnes (about 7 miles away) and Paignton (about 7 miles away), so booking a slot in TQ6 is rarely a long wait.
