Chimney Repairs Balham

A chimney is the most exposed masonry on any house, and once the mortar goes the water goes straight down into the bedrooms below. In Balham that matters more than most places: the SW12 area is dominated by Edwardian terraces with rear butterfly valleys, and Thames-side damp, tall mature trees and long wet winters mean blocked gutters and moss growth are a constant battle. Our roofers know the tree-lined roads around Hyde Farm and the streets around them, so we arrive with the right materials and the right access plan first time.

Chimneys on Balham's butterfly-roof terraces sit on the party wall, so repairs include the flashings on both sides and the shared valley where damp often starts. Shared party-wall stacks are standard on Balham's terraces; we repoint and re-flash your side, re-bed loose pots and can coordinate with neighbours if the whole stack needs work.

Most stacks are repointed and re-flashed in one to two days, with scaffold or tower access arranged as part of the quote. On every Balham job the approach is the same — we rake out and repoint in a suitable mortar mix, renew the flaunching, re-bed pots and dress fresh code-4 lead into the brick courses so the stack sheds water cleanly. Nothing starts until you have a fixed, written price backed by photographs.

We are a family-run, fully insured roofing company, not a call centre passing your details on. As well as Balham itself we cover Tooting Bec, Nightingale Lane, Streatham Hill and the rest of South West London, so if you have been searching for roofers near me for chimney repairs in SW12, you have found a local team who will actually turn up. The same crews that handle chimney repairs in Balham are regularly working in Clapham (about a mile away), Brixton (about a mile away) and Battersea (about 2 miles away), so booking a slot in SW12 is rarely a long wait.
