Flat Roofing Petworth

Flat roofs fail at the details — upstands, outlets and joins — long before the middle of the sheet gives up. In Petworth that matters more than most places: the GU28 area is dominated by listed stone and tile-hung period houses with heritage roofs, and coastal salt spray inland to Downland exposure means storm damage and wind-lifted tiles are frequent. Our roofers know the conservation streets beside Petworth Park and the streets around them, so we arrive with the right materials and the right access plan first time.

Hidden flat roofs behind parapets are common in Petworth; we renew them in lead or high-performance felt and re-form the outlets so rainwater never backs up behind the parapet wall. Rear extensions on older Petworth cottages often join the main roof awkwardly; we build the flat roof to fall away from the cottage wall and flash it properly into old brick or stone.

How we work in Petworth: we strip back to sound decking, replace anything soft, add firrings so water actually runs to the outlet, then lay a high-performance felt, EPDM or GRP system dressed properly into every upstand. You get a free inspection, clear photos and a fixed written quote before any flat roofing work begins. Most single-storey extension or garage flat roofs are completed within one to two days with minimal disruption.

M.S & Sons is a family business — the people who quote your flat roofing in Petworth are the people who do the work. We cover Fittleworth, Tillington, Byworth and the wider West Sussex area, and we are fully insured with every job guaranteed. Because we also cover Billingshurst (about 7 miles away), Storrington (about 8 miles away) and Pulborough (about 8 miles away), our vans pass through Petworth most weeks — which keeps flat roofing appointments in GU28 quick to arrange.
